When Germany’s GeigerCars decided to modify one of America’s top performance cars, designers looked to an Italian carmaker, specifically Ferrari, for inspiration for their latest kit. The new car is the GeigerCars Corvette Z06 Black Edition, and it features a custom rear end that draws obvious styling cues from Ferrari’s 599 and F430 supercars. The back now sports a new bumper with an integrated diffuser, LED taillights and chrome exhaust tips.

The rest of the car maintains the factory look with only a few subtle pieces added including a custom front lip and forged alloy wheels. Underneath the hood is where most of the modifications take place. Engineers have bumped power up to 542hp (389kW) by adding a sports air-filter, custom exhaust manifolds, steel bed catalysts and remapped the engine’s ECU. The sprint time from 0-100km/h is reduced to about 3.7 seconds, while maximum speed is increased to about 327 km/h.

GeigerCars also offers a high performance brake system and suspension set-up with new springs replacing the standard transverse units. Multi-piece chrome wheels measuring 19in can also be specified. Inside, developers added carbon-fiber panels, and handcrafted leather trim. Pictured below is GeigerCars's 2006 edition Corvette Z06, which you can compare directly with GM's own Corvette ZR1 supercar.

My husband was working in a hospital as an IT engineer, as the hospital is planning to set up a database of its patient. And he knows some of the doctor quite well. The doctors used to tell him that whenever they have a headache, they are not willing to take PANADOL PARACETAMOL.

In fact, they will turn Herbal Medicine or find other alternatives. This is because Panadol is toxic to the body, and it harms the liver. According to the doctor, Panadol will reside in the body for at least 5 years.

And according to the doctor, there used to be an incident where an air stewardess consumes a lot of Panadol during her menstrual as she needs to stand all the time. She's now in her early 30's, and she needs to wash her kidney (DIALYSIS) every month.

As said by the doctor that whenever we have a headache, that's because it is due to the electron / Ion imbalance in the brain.

As an alternative solution to cope with this matter, they suggested that we buy 1 or 2 cans of isotonic drink ( eg.100PLUS), and mix it with drinking water according to a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 (simply, it means one cup 100plus, one cup water or 2 cups water).My husband and I have tried this on several occasions, and it seems to work well.

Another method will be to submerge your feet in a basin of warm water so that it brings the blood pressure down from your throbbing head.

As Panadol is a pain killer, the more Panadol you take, the lesser would be your threshold for pain (your endurance level for pain). We all will fall ill as we age, for woman, we would need to go through childbirth.

Imagine that we had spent our entire life popping quite a substantial amount of Panadol (Pain Killer) when you need to have a surgery or operation, you will need a much more amount of general.

If you have a very high intake of Panadol throughout your life (Migraine, Menstrual cramps ) it is very likely that normal general anesthetic will have no effects on you as your body is Pumped full with Panadol and your body is so used to pain killer that you would need a much stronger pain killer, Morphine????

The thought is scary enough to turn me to Herbal Medicine or other healthier alternative. Value your health, value your life, THINK TWICE before you easily pop that familiar pill into your mouth again.

Gas Attack in Colombo VERY SOOOOONNNNNNN.......

It's always beyond our comprehension, it's unimaginable sometimes. But it always happened making us helpless and ashamed. Our defenses denied that LTTE had aircrafts. Proclaimed to shoot them down the moment they are airborne. Blamed people like Iqbal Athas as traitors for reporting it. But now it has become a fact.The LTTE managed to invade our airspace six times and escape without a scratch.

Recently, media reported that LTTE is planning to use chemical weapons. Our defenses denied it bluntly. Weeks after that, they attacked our army using chemical weapons. Well it was said to be a non lethal version of CS gas. But this news is startling. It's reported that some of our soldiers became ill after that.

What if LTTE use these weapons on civilians? CS gas in a fully packed bus could be lethal enough to kill many innocent people. Or they could even use a lethal gas like Chlorine like in Japan. This will only have a minor effect on our army if they use gas in open areas. Chemical weapons are much more successful only if they are deployed in large amounts in confined areas, possibly from air. But there is a possibility of LTTE using chemical weapons on civilians. Government should take necessary steps in advising the public of ways to survive a gas attack.

Let's not wait to close the gate after the horse has run away. These are some ways to survive Mustard or Chlorine attack.

Chlorine Gas

1.Yellow,green gas with the strong smell of bleach might be chlorine
2.Move quickly into an area with clean air
3.Try to hold your breath until you move away.
3. Don't stay indoors
4. Move to higher ground ( chlorine is denser than air)
5. Pee on a cloth and hold it to your nose (urine crystallizes chlorine, this could be very useful for our army).
6. Remove cloths which touched the gas.
7. Do not vomit.
8. Wash your body thoroughly.
9. Stay calm, panicking may increase the amount of gas that you inhale
10. Don't try to cover your kids faces first. Try to cover your nose first
then you can help the kids

Mustard Gas

1. Burning or itching on the skin or a smell of onions is a sign of musted gas.
2.Move to higher ground
3.Cover your skin to avoid burning
4. Do not vomit. Drink milk
5. Wash your body thoroughly.

If you have any other information please add-on. Can anyone translate this into sinhala and tamil post in a blog, or circulate among people? It Could be useful. Let's not wait until the government does it - they are always late.

If any suspicious person, even a beggar, is noticed by you, take steps quickly to inform security authorities and the people around.

Review

Recall the 'Kantaben' episode in Karan Johar's Kal Ho Naa Ho. The episode is alive even today, in skits, on stage, amongst friends. That was a mere trailer. Picture abhi baaki hain. Dostana takes 'Kantaben' episode to another level altogether.

Dostana is no BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. It's not a serious take on homosexuality either. On the contrary, it's a madcap comedy where two straight men pretend to be gays. Although Dostana is a mainstream commercial film, it dares to push the envelope in its own way. It brings homosexuality out of the closet, gives it respect and dignity and doesn't treat gays as 'abnormal'.

Love triangle in Hindi movies often centre around two guys falling in love with the same girl, or two girls choosing to love the same guy. But Dostana is a first. It's the first Hindi film that, at the core, is a rectangle [three men loving the same woman], but two of them, guys in this case, pretend to be a couple.

Sure, Dostana has ample shock-value since what has been witnessed in its promos is barely a fraction of what you'd get to watch in the movie. But more than shock-value, the film offers loads of fun-n-laughter and dollops of entertainment in those 14 reels.

A word of appreciation! It requires courage to fund a project like Dostana. Karan Johar, the producer, deserves to be lauded for treading the untrodden path. It requires courage and conviction to swim against the tide in your directorial debut. Tarun Mansukhani, the debutante, deserves a few brownie points extra for not thinking straight. It requires courage for two A-list actors to go all out and risk their professional [and personal] lives. Abhishek and John deserve an ovation for not only agreeing to play these characters, but also infusing life in them, without making a mockery of the gay community.

To cut a long story short, Dostana is not to be missed. Dharma Productions, the late Yash Johar and Karan Johar's film production outfit, has produced several significant films in the past. Add Dostana to the list!

Miami is the setting for Dostana. When Sameer [Abhishek Bachchan] and Kunal [John Abraham] are turned down for an apartment because the landlady [Sushmita Mukherjee] doesn't want two strapping young men to corrupt her young sexy niece Neha [Priyanka Chopra], they hatch a plan: they pretend to be gay to secure the apartment.

Over a period of time, Sameer, Kunal and Neha become buddies. When Neha's boss Abhimanyu [Bobby Deol] enters the fray as the third contender for her affections, it gets even hotter...

Dostana shocks you all the while and that is its biggest USP. Don't expect stereotypical situations or characters all through this film. Watch Abhishek cook up a romantic story between John and him in Venice. Watch Boman Irani's interaction with Abhishek and John. Watch Kirron Kher's dramatic entry at this point. Howlarious scenes all, they're sure to bring the house down.

If the first hour is laced with crackling chemistry between the guys and terrific humour, things get serious towards the second half since there's one more person vying for Priyanka's attention -- Bobby Deol. There's humour in this hour too, but the focus is mainly on who'd get Priyanka in the end.

The length is a slight deterrent in the second half and the editor could've easily cut the unwanted flab to make the narration in shape. But the film works as a package! Also, the film has a shocking end and people are bound to raise eyebrows. It would have its share of advocates and adversaries. A debatable culmination, for sure!

Director Tarun Mansukhani is here to stay. He deserves kudos for choosing an offbeat story, then making a foolproof screenplay and most importantly, executing it with flourish. Dostana merges form and content beautifully, since the film is, technically speaking, sound. Ayananka Bose's cinematography is top notch. The locales of Miami are a feast for your eyes. Costumes and styling are very upmarket.

Vishal-Shekhar's music goes well with the mood of the film. It's young, peppy and energetic. 'Desi Girl' and 'Maa Da Laadla Bigad Gaya' are foot-tapping compositions. The latter is bound to be a rage!

Both Abhishek and John are fantabulous! Abhishek pulls out all the stops and delivers one of the finest performances of his career. His comic timing is superb! John will make guys and girls drool over his amazing physique. But, most importantly, people will sit up and notice how fine an actor John is. Both Abhishek and John compliment each other so well. In fact, had the chemistry and camaraderie been missing, the story would've failed to look convincing. Two thumbs up for these two guys!

Priyanka looks stunning and delivers a first-rate performance. First FASHION, now Dostana, Priyanka is back with a bang. Bobby Deol lends the required class to his role. No other actor would've looked so real while underplaying this character.

Boman Irani is sure to bring the house down, the auditorium is sure to resonate with laughter in his sequences. Kirron Kher is superb as the Punjabi mom. Watch her throw a fit when she learns that her son [Abhishek] is gay and much later, when she accepts John as family. She's remarkable! Sushmita Mukherjee, as Priyanka's aunt, is fantastic. She's so, so funny. Shilpa Shetty sizzles in the opening track.

On the whole, Dostana is a winner all the way. In terms of content, it might just prove to be a trendsetter. In terms of business, the film holds tremendous appeal for the youth. The 16 to 25 age-group would go into raptures and bonkers over this film. Its business at multiplexes mainly will be amazing. In Overseas too, the film should emerge amongst the biggest draws of 2008. Dostana rocks... have a blast!

The official count from the 2005 festival was 2,025 sets of twins. As happens every year, there were a lot more twins in attendance than are reflected in the official count. However, if they don't register, we have no way of counting them.

A quick summary of the events they will be attending:

Welcome wiener roast - with an opportunity for the kids to get their photos taken with costumed Maya and Miguel - along with posters, stickers and bracelet giveaways
They will be participating (costumed characters - these ARE cartoon characters after all!) in the parade
Maya and Miguel will also be in the tent area on the Festival grounds on Saturday/Sunday, again with the opportunity for the kids to get their photos taken with them.
They will be on stage to help "MC" the talent contest.
Lastly, there will be the opportunity to win one of a few "Maya and Miguel Bags" at the Raffle on Friday night.

Westminister Abbey

Westminister Abbey

Found in 616, the Abbey was stone built in 1045-1050 by King Edward the Confessor. The Abbey was then concreted in 1065, just one week before the tragic death of King Edward and subsequently funeral and burial. Looking at its outstanding architecture, the two western towers are built using Portland stone to an early Gothic Revival design.

After Oxford and Cambridge universities, The Westminister Abbey was the third seat of learning in England. The first third half of the King James Bible Old Testament and the last half of the New Testament were translated in the abbey, which housed many well known intellects. Later in the 20th Century, also the New Bible was put together, here at Westminister.

Another spectacular series of events which took place in the Abbey is the crowning of kings which was celebrated with such royalty within this premises. Both King Harold and William the Conqueror, all English and British monarchs except Edward V and Edward VII have been crowned at the Abbey.

Westminister Abbey is a very popular burial ground since early times. Monks and people associated with the Abbey were buried in the Cloisters and other areas, and many Aristocrats were buried inside chapels. World famous poets, such as William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth, William Blake, Lord Byron, Gerard Manley Hopkins, Thomas Gray, John Keats, and Percy Bysshe Shelley were also buried and memorialized in the Abbey in a place dedicated for them called the “Poet’s Corner”. Abbey’s musicians, such as Henry Purcell was also buried in his work premises.

It was not long when people started to consider being buried in the Westminister Abbey, an absolute honour. On a first visit to the Westminister Abbey, it is not only the sight that inspires the visitor, but also the sound of bells which harmonize with it. The largest bell playing the lowest pitch weighing 1544 Kg. All this simply makes it a place you must visit!

Rick and I were recently introduced to the work of Chef Omar Addihaoui of Opera Cafe, a patisserie and catering service in Kuwait. Omar Addihaoui has been receiving much attention of late due to his absolutely mind-boggling structural cake designs that he creates for royalty in Kuwait, Dubai, Saudi, Cairo, and other cities throughout the region. After our jaws hit the floor in amazement, a discussion ensued. Were the cakes real? We decided that we're pretty certain that none, or only a small portion of the design is actual cake. Structurally it is nearly impossible to make these designs in cake and we think it is most likely styrofoam. Just the fondant alone would be weighty. How much did they cost? Being a curious twosome, we looked on the internet and found an article about Chef Omar in the Al Watan Daily, where he quotes the cakes start at 600 Kuwaiti dinars (roughly $2000) to 3000 ($10,000) Kuwaiti dinars for a replica of Versailles. Those are decent numbers for sure. Then we asked the question 9 out of 10 people ask us. How long does it take Chef Omar to make a cake? We found the answer in the same article:"Surprisingly, he added: "Cakes can be made in a single day. We are a big team, all of us participating at different levels, and many of our customers are surprised at the pace of our creations at Opera. We can finish a cake in one day. Its not about the size of the cake, it''s about how we are organized"Asked how much time a customer needs to preـorder a cake, Addihaoui said: "Usually customers order them a month to fifteen days ahead, but sometimes they order them a week ahead or sometimes the same day."Whoa! He can finish a cake in one day and customers can order a cake the same day of the event? We're even more sure now that the cakes are all or mostly faux. Other cakers care to chime in? We invite your comments. These awe-inspiring designs are original, to say the least. Artistically they may or may not suit your tastes, but Chef Omar is one of the only people out there doing cakes like this in the world. I wasn't at all surprised when we read in the same article that Chef Omar draws his inspiration from his own imagination. He and his team of cake artists do not copy designs from anyone else. Amazing work and totally original! We love how he stands in front of his cakes with his arms crossed. word. Our hats are off to Chef Omar. His designs are being talked about around the world!

Biography

It was an unforgettable moment when, on September 15, 1987, he played his guitar for Pope John Paul II in Los Angeles. Born without arms, he performed a touching song entitled Never Be The Same. When the Pope approached him from the stage to kiss him in appreciation, it seemed to reflect the sentiments of the entire country.

Never Be the Same was an appropriate song, for those few moments changed Tony Melendez' life and brought his unrestrained abilities as a guitarist into national attention. It seems to be a fitting place for a man who has spent his life putting personal confidence above his handicap.

A thalidomide baby, Tony was born without arms because his mother was prescribed thalidomide a drug used to help calm morning sickness during her pregnancy. He was brought to the Los Angeles area from Nicaragua to be fitted with artificial arms. He wore them until he was ten, when he disposed of them. "I didn't feel comfortable," he explains, "I could use my feet so much more."

His proficiency with his feet extended to more areas than just day-to-day care. He remembers that "at first, I started playing push-button organ. Then in high school I began playing around with the guitar and harmonica." He also began writing his own songs. Whether it was "playing around" with music or merely adjusting to a normal high school routine, Tony never let his handicap get in his way. "I was pretty secure in what I could do," he says.

It was also in high school that he became deeply involved in the Catholic Church. "I went when I was a kid because my parents took me. I drifted away as I got a little older. When I was in high school, my brother kept saying 'come on, you've gotta go. It's great!' So I went again and made a lot of friends, and wound up changing my life in the process.

During this time, he considered becoming a priest but couldn't, because priests were required to have an index finger and thumb. The news disappointed him but he persevered in his church activities, using his talents as a guitarist and composer for masses and church related events. Demand for him increased to the point where he was directing and singing in music groups at up to five masses on a given Sunday. It caught people's attention, including someone with the group organizing activities for the monumental visit of Pope John Paul II in 1987.

"Someone pulled my name out of somewhere and asked me to go to a meeting," Tony recalls. "I wasn't sure what it was." It turned out to be an audition and Tony was accepted. "I was really excited when I heard."

Excitement became nervousness and then jubilation when the Pope responded to Tony's playing, with a kiss. He notes now that he wasn't sure how to react. "I was told not to move or the security might take me out, so I was very surprised when the Pope leaped off the four-foot stage to greet me."

Since then Tony has traveled across the United States and forty foreign countries, making countless television appearances, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, Geraldo, CBS This Morning, The Late Show with Arsenio Hall, 700 Club, Robert Schuller, and prime-time network specials for Variety Clubs and Very Special Arts. He also performed at The World Series, where he sang the National Anthem for the fifth game of the 1989 series. Tony has had the opportunity to give four additional performances for the Pope, twice in the Vatican and the another in the Pope's homeland of Poland, and in Denver Colorado for World Youth Day 1993. Along with television and major personal appearances, newspapers and magazine articles have appeared on him through out the world. Now an author his best-selling autobiography, A Gift of Hope, was published in 1989 by Harper & Row.

He has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including special commendations from President Reagan, The State of California, Variety Clubs of America, Very Special Arts, The City of Los Angeles, and countless other civic and charitable organizations. He has also received the first annual Inspirational Hero Award from the NFL Alumni Association at Super Bowl XXIII in Miami.

A highly talented composer and musician, Tony recorded his first album in 1989, a collection of contemporary Christian songs entitled, Never Be the Same, which resulted in nominations for Best New Artist of the Year from Cashbox Magazine and the Gospel Music Association. His debut Spanish LP, El Muro Se Cayo And The Walls Came Tumblin' Down, was released to critical acclaim by Latin radio stations across the country. Ways of the Wise, Tony's second Christian album, includes the musical talents of Gary Chapman and Phil Keaggy. The fall of 1990 CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) Magazine Top Pop List charted Ways of the Wise, Tony's first single released from the album, at #3.

Tony's latest album Hands In Heaven (Toe Jam Music), which he co-produced, is a musical look into the heart and soul. Selections such as "Lowly Servant," is a prayer for help and guidance in the struggles of life. "Everybody Sing," is an uplifting Calypso praise and worship song. "Love Is the Answer," is a remake of the 1970's England Dan & John Ford Coley hit. "I Wish I Could Hold You; " Tony's touching dedication to his wife Lynn and kids. The title song, "Hands In Heaven," is a beautiful tribute to those friends and relatives who have passed on and are now praying for us before the throne of God in Heaven - all reflect the perceptive and deeply-rooted insights into the life and faith of Tony Melendez.

Currently, Tony resides in Branson Missouri, which is most known for its small-town hospitality and world class entertainment. "Lynn and I love each other deeply and music brought us together. So, one day we’ll share all of these memories with our children. Music has opened the door to my dreams and I will keep singing, continue to share my life, and keep making' music for all who will listen."

The Sri Lankan Elephant (Elephas maximus maximus) is the nominate subspecies of the Asian Elephantand is the largest of the subspecies although smaller than the two species of African elephants.

The elephant population in the National Parks of Sri Lanka is somewhat diminutive in stature when compared both with historical accounts dating back to 200 BC and with the early photographs taken in 19th century during the time of colonial British occupation of the island. The smaller size could possibly be the end result of a long-continued process of removing the physically best specimens from the potential breeding-stock through hunting or domestication. Since Sri Lanka was at one time a part of peninsularIndia (there is evidence that there existed a land bridge between the northern part of the island and the subcontinent many thousand years ago), it is highly likely that the Asian Elephant, roaming South India at the time, "conquered" Sri Lanka literally on foot.

An important cultural symbiosis has continued to exist between the elephant and humans for over two thousand years – no perahara (religious procession) was complete without its retinue of elephants, and many large Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka had their own elephants.

The Sri Lankan Elephant population is now largely restricted to a few National Parks and Nature Reserves. Udawalawe National Park, Minneriya National Park, Wilpattu National Park and Yala National Park are prime locations for spotting elephants.

The Bhatts never run out of stories. In their new outing JANNAT, Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt have yet another new story to tell. This time, it's all about match fixing and bookies. But wait! It would be erroneous to classify JANNAT as a cricket-centric film. Cricket is just the wallpaper here. The focus is on the love story, like GANGSTER which was, at heart, a love story.

What catches you by complete surprise is the fact that JANNAT has been helmed by a debutante director [Kunal Deshmukh] and penned by, again, a debutante wordsmith [story: Vishesh Bhatt; screenplay Kunal Deshmukh and Vishesh Bhatt]. You're surprised at the level of maturity, the command over the craft, the display of confidence in their very first outing.

Honestly, you don't take to JANNAT instantly. The initial portions - the love story - are strictly chalta haistuff. But the best part is, JANNAT takes a step forward every 10 minutes. The film actually takes off when the characters reach Cape Town, South Africa. The portions thereafter are akin to a roller coaster ride.

Right from the interval point to a hair-raising, pulse-pounding climax, JANNAT is another journey altogether. The end, especially, hits you like a ton of bricks [it wouldn't be right to reveal what happens to the characters].

You can't imagine JANNAT without Emraan Hashmi. Right from his debut film FOOTHPATH to JANNAT, the actor has only grown with the passage of time. The actor displays the gamut of emotions with aplomb, he changes expressions like a chameleon changes colors. JANNAT is yet another turning point in his career.

In a nutshell, JANNAT is one of the finest films to come out of Vishesh Films. Not to be missed!

Arjun [Emraan Hashmi] is a reckless young man with an obsession for making money at card games. A chance meeting with a girl in a mall, Zoya [Sonal Chauhan], gives him the reasons he was looking for to move out of his ordinary life. He steps up from playing small-time card games to becoming a bookie.

Stuck in a triangle of sorts between the woman he loves and his addiction to make a quick buck, Arjun steps into the world of match fixing. But his dizzy rise attracts the attention of the police [Samir Kochar].

Arjun has to now choose between Zoya and this new-found success and power. As Arjun struggles to choose between the two, the Don [Jawed Sheikh] offers the forbidden apple of limitless wealth in exchange of his soul and draws him into his core entourage of money spinners.

You may not be a cricket fan, but it's not difficult to decipher JANNAT. In fact, the makers have refrained from using any technical jargon in the movie. Portions depicting match fixing and Emraan's interaction with the cricketers are, in fact, amongst the high points of the film. The speed at which JANNAT unfolds and most importantly, the turn of events is the hallmark of this enterprise.

Vishesh Films has an eye for talent and this time the prolific production house pulls up two more aces - director Kunal Deshmukh and writer Vishesh Bhatt. Kunal is a storyteller to watch out for. In the past decade, the Bhatts have nurtured several talents, prominent among them being Anurag Basu and Mohit Suri. Now add Kunal Deshmukh to the list. If you understand cinema, you'd realize that every sequence in JANNAT is not only well-shot, but there's meat in those scenes too.

Vishesh Bhatt's writing is dew-fresh and doesn't take the tried and tested route. Note the intermission point or the twists in the second hour as also the climax, the writer's contribution looms large in those portions. Pritam's music is lilting. The film has a hit score, but you'd like to single out two numbers - 'Zara Sa' and 'Jannat Jahan' - for the sheer melody.

Manoj Soni's cinematography is first-rate. The stunning locales of Cape Town are filmed exquisitely. Sanjay Masoom's dialogues are excellent. A few dialogues, in fact, are refreshing to the ears. Background score [Raju Singh] is top notch.

You can't visualize JANNAT without Emraan Hashmi. If you loved him in MURDER, GANGSTER and AWARAPAN, you'd place his performance in JANNAT in the same league. Note the naughty streak as also the helplessness [at the interval point and towards the end]. An incredible performance indeed!

Sonal Chauhan looks pretty and though she's passable in the initial portions, she gets into the groove eventually. This girl has the potential. Jawed Sheikh is brilliant. This is his finest work so far. Samir Kochar is excellent. Vishal Malhotra is good. Shakeel Khan does very well. Abhimanyu Singh is competent. Vipin Sharma leaves a mark in a brief role.

On the whole, JANNAT is a well-made film with lilting music, gripping script and excellent performances as its mainstay. Coupled with an absorbing second hour and a brilliant climax, the film has all it takes to prove a success story in times to come. Its solo release coupled with good hype should overcome the strong opposition [IPL].

Bharti Airtel, one of India's largest mobile operators received 2G and 3G license from Sri Lanka Telecommunication Regularity Commission to roll out the Sri Lanka's 5th mobile network. In a press conference officials revealed that Airtel will invest $150 million within 3 years of time in Sri Lanka. After several months of receiving this licences Airtel advertised about their job vacancies in some week end news papers and registered a domain name also underBharti Airtel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. This domain was also hanging around for several week without a web site (redirected to hosting account default page) and now it seems they haven't paid for the hosting account. how ever they have registerd this domain for another 10 more years in advance.

In the last quarter of 2007 I noticed some Airtel engineers going here and there searching for locations to install towers. But after that I don't aware whether they have installed any but I guess still they haven't.At the same time it was said that they were planning to start Airtel operations in Sri Lanka by April 2008.

As things goes like this I don't think that Airtel will be able to do a remarkable revolution in Sri Lanka in upcoming years. The reason is Airtel hinted that they are going to reduce the outgoing call charges to Rs 2 per minute.It was a great news for all the mobile users at that time because average rate was around Rs 6 at that time. Most of the mobile users who were Dialog GSM customers were paying around Rs 7 per minute without VAT and Hutch, Mobitel and Tigo customers were paying around Rs 6 - 5.

Later Mobitel reduced their charges to Rs 2 Mobitel 2Mobitel within day time and following that Hutch also reduced to Rs 2 all day along. Very recently Tigo launched 3 revolutionary packages called T1,T2 and T2 which charges only Rs 3 per outgoing minute just Rs 1 more than Airlte's promised price.

However let's hope some more leverage in Sri Lankan mobile phone market with the Airtel entrance as it will benefit all of us.

Correct Posture to use Computers

Regular computer users perform 50,000 to 200,000 keystrokes each day. Under certain circumstances and for vulnerable individuals, frequent computer use that involves awkward postures, repetition, and forceful exertions may be related to nerve, muscle, tendon, and ligament damage.

If you use a computer extensively (several hours each day), many experts recommend that you consider proper workstation layout and posture techniques to minimize your risk of developing injuries of the hand/arm, shoulder, neck, and back.

Overuse injuries develop over time, and may set in more quickly if you spend long hours sitting at a computer at home, as well as at work.

Symptoms of a problem can include numbness in the fingers, sore wrists, lower back pain, or eyestrain (redness, dryness, soreness, temporary blurring of vision, and headaches).

You may also develop general aches and pains in the neck, shoulders, arms, back, thighs, and lower legs (postural fatigue) or persistent pain or discomfort in muscles, tendons, and other soft tissue (repetitive strain injury).

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Avoid most computer-related overuse injuries. Some experts suggest that to reduce your risk:

Use a properly set-up workstation.
Use correct posture including keyboard and pointing device techniques.
And most importantly, take frequent rest breaks.

f you're like most people, you are more productive and efficient at a workstation that fits your body size.

Many experts suggest that the ideal workstation lets you work in natural (neutral) postures that may minimize strain on your body. A workstation mismatched with your body may force vulnerable individuals into uncomfortable postures such as hunching over, slouching, straining, or twisting.

Some believe that working for extended lengths of time in unnatural positions may be related to musculoskeletal injury. These experts note that problems with workstation set up for some persons may include using a chair that is the wrong height or size or does not support your back and incorrect height of work surfaces (desktop and keyboard), monitor, and source documents.

Chair

Many people find that a good chair is one that adapts to their bodies. You may want to choose one that is stable and adjusts easily for height and tilt. Consider a chair with a backrest that supports the curve of your lower (lumbar) back. Sit back in the chair when you work at a computer.

Experts suggest that you consider positioning your thighs horizontal with your knees at about the same level as your hips. Rest your feet comfortably on the floor or on a footrest if you need one.

Some experts advise that your chair should also:

· Support your forearms with adjustable armrests that position your elbows near your waist.

· Have a padded seat with a pan at least one inch wider than your hips and thighs.

· Slope down slightly and allow a 2 to 3 finger breath-space between the seat cushion and the back of your knees when sitting.

· Consider a base with at least 5 points that roll on wheels (casters).

Work Surfaces

Many people may be most comfortable when the height of the desks is at about elbow level when sitting down. Check that there is enough room below the work surface to comfortably fit your knees and thighs.

Consider having the height of the surface holding your keyboard and mouse or trackball about 1 to 2 inches above your thighs. Center the keyboard in front of your body.

Many experts suggest that when you use a correctly positioned keyboard:

Your elbows stay near your body in an open angle allowing circulation to the lower arms and hands.
Your arms are nearly perpendicular to the floor.
Your wrists are nearly straight.

You may be more comfortable if you use your arm, not just your wrist, to move the mouse. Choose a mouse that fits the size of your hand comfortably and is as flat as possible to minimize wrist strain.

Monitor and Source Documents

Correct placement of your monitor may help some individuals prevent eye strain, neck pain and shoulder fatigue by keeping your head and neck as straight as possible. Some experts suggest that your monitor should be separate from your keyboard and centered directly in front of you. Position the monitor:

About one arm's length (20 to 26 inches) away.
With the top of the viewing screen at eye level so you can see it clearly without looking up.

Position a document holder between the monitor and keyboard or right next to the monitor to avoid twisting your neck to view source material. Additional workstation considerations:

Locate your workstation away from sources of glare such as windows.
Organize your workstation so the objects you need most often are within easy reach.
Some find it helpful to use a head set if you talk on the phone and type at the same time.

Posture, Keyboard, and Pointing Techniques

When you use a properly set-up workstation, you can sit at the computer in a natural (neutral), relaxed position that may help reduce your risk of developing musculoskeletal injuries:

Spine: Ears are in line with tops of shoulders, and shoulders in line with hips.
Shoulders: Upper arms hang relaxed and close to the body.
Wrists: Hands are in straight lines with lower arms.

Keyboarding and pointing techniques:

Keep your fingers relaxed while typing and using a mouse.
Use a soft touch on the keyboard instead of pounding keys with unnecessary force.
Grasp the mouse gently.
Avoid holding a pen or anything else in your hands while you type or use the mouse.
Relax your fingers and hands between bursts of typing or mousing using a flat, straight wrist posture.

Additional tips:

Don't rest your elbows on hard surfaces.
Rest your eyes occasionally by focusing on distant objects (i.e., look out a window).

Frequent Rest Breaks

The body is not designed to sit still, even in correct position, for long periods of time. Some individuals find that using a computer extensively can cause discomfort, so regular pauses are not a waste of time. Change your seated position occasionally, stand up or stretch whenever you start to feel tired. Depending upon your work and environment, you may want to take breaks.

Basic stretching exercises can help keep limber the joints and muscles you use when you sit at a computer. Some examples:

General: Stand up and stretch your arms over your head.
Neck: Tilt your head to one side (ear to shoulder); hold; relax; repeat on other side.
Shoulders: Slowly bring shoulders up to the ears and hold briefly.
Wrist: Hold arm straight out in front of you; pull hand backwards with other hand, then pull downward; hold; relax; repeat with other hand.

· Laptop Computers

· Some individuals may find the design of a laptop computer is inherently problematic because the screen and keyboard are not in separate places. When you use a laptop, either your head/neck bends to see the screen, or your hands/wrists use poor posture at the keyboard. If you use a laptop frequently, consider buying either an external monitor or an external keyboard to improve the workstation set-up. If you use a laptop only occasionally, you may find that positioning the computer in your lap for the most neutral wrist posture is most comfortable.

Motor Cycles before 100 years

The history of the motorcycle will forever be linked with the development of early bicycles. The bicycle formed the basis for early motorbikes and helped to shape the history of these motorized machines.

In 1867 Sylvester Howard Roper invented the first machine that some would recognise as a motorbike. Roper, an American, created a machine that had two cylinder steam engine. This early bike was powered by coal.

Some experts insist that having the machine powered in such a way suggests that it can't really be compared to modern motorcycles.

Many suggest that the first real motorcycle was invented by Gottlieb Daimler. Daimler was, of course, to eventually find rather more fame through his work on cars.

Daimler had been working for some time with Nicolaus August Otto, who was himself an early expert in designing and building engines. Daimler took one of Otto's engines and attached it to a wooden bicycle frame.

Otto's four stroke internal combustion engine was a remarkable breakthrough and Daimler's use of it ensured that in 1885 he produced what many see as having been the first ever motorcycle.

There is often some confusion, with many believing that these machines were invented by the Harley Davidson company.

That company was founded by William Harley, Arthur Davidson and Walter Davidson. Although they did play a key role in the early development of motorcycles, they didn't start producing the machines until almost twenty years after Daimler had created the first one.

Although Harley Davidsons quickly became known for their speed and performance, the inventors always intended that the bikes should be used for transport purposes.

Today, they remain as one of the great icons of the last century.

It's amazing to think that the developments of more than 100 years ago led to the production of modern day motorbikes.

Indian Chicken Recipies

INDIAN BUTTER CHICKEN RECIPE

Ingredients:

1/4 pint/150ml natural yogurt
2 ounces/50g ground almonds
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp crushed bay leaves
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp garam masala
4 green cardamom pods
1 tsp ginger pulp
1 tsp garlic pulp
14 ounce/400g can tomatoes
1 1/4 tsp salt
2 pounds/1kg chicken, skinned, boned and cubed
3 ounces/75g butter
1 tbsp corn oil
2 medium onions, sliced
2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
4 tbsp cream

How to make butter chicken :

Place the yogurt, ground almonds, all the dry spices, ginger, garlic, tomatoes and salt in a mixing bowl and blend together thoroughly.
Put the chicken into a large mixing bowl and pour over the yogurt mixture.
Set aside. Melt together the butter and oil in a medium karahi, wok or frying pan. Add the onions and fry for about 3 minutes. Add the chicken mixture and stir-fry for about 7 to 10 minutes.
Stir in about half of the coriander and mix well. Pour over the cream and stir in well. Bring to the boil. Garnish the indian butter chicken with the remaining chopped coriander to serve the chicken curry.

INDIAN CHILLI CHICKEN RECIPE

Ingredients:

500-600gms. boneless chicken (cut into1-inch cubes)
2 tbsp Soya sauce
1 egg
2 tbsp corn flour / corn starch
5-6 green chilies (finely chopped)
2 green onion tops (finely chopped), if available
1 tsp garlic paste
Salt To Taste
1/2 tsp white pepper powder or to taste
1 tsp sugar
A pinch of ajinomoto (optional)
2 cups chicken broth / water
1 tbsp oil
Oil to fry

How to make chili chicken :

Take 1tbsp. Soya sauce, 1tbsp. corn flour, salt, egg in a bowl and marinate chicken pieces in the the mixture for about 10-15 minutes.
Heat oil and deep fry the marinated chicken pieces till golden brown.
Now in a separate wok / kadhai heat 1 tbsp. oil and add garlic paste and green chilies and sauté for few seconds.
Add 2 cups of chicken broth or water. Bring to boil and add sugar, pepper powder, salt , ajinomoto and remaining Soya sauce.
Add fried chicken pieces to it and cook for few minutes.
Dissolve the remaining corn flour in 1/2 cup water and add to the curry stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Serve chilli chicken hot garnished with chopped green onion tops. Goes well with steamed / boiled rice.

COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY RECIPE

Ingredients:

1/4 cup whole unsalted cashews
1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
Salt To Taste
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 tsp black mustard seeds
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp ground coriander
1 tbsp curry powder
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
1 garlic clove, minced
1 (14 ounce) can unsweetened coconut milk
1/4 cup frozen peas
2 tbsp chopped cilantro

How to make chicken with coconut milk:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Spread the cashews in a pie plate and bake for 5 minutes, or until fragrant and lightly toasted. Transfer to a plate to cool.
Lightly season the chicken with salt. In a large, deep skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of the oil until smoking.
Add the chicken and cook over moderately high heat until golden brown, about 1 1/2 minutes per side. Transfer the chicken to a plate and reduce the heat to moderate.
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the skillet and heat until smoking. Add the mustard seeds and cook for about 1 minute, or until they stop popping. Add the cumin seeds, coriander and curry powder, and cook, stirring occasionally, until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the onion, ginger and garlic, and cook until the onion softens, about 10 minutes; if the mixture seems dry, add up to 1/4 cup of water to prevent sticking.
Stir in the coconut milk and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Stir in the peas and cook for 1 minute. Transfer the coconut chicken curry to a bowl, sprinkle with the cilantro and cashews and serve.

INDIAN CHICKEN DILRUBA RECIPE

Ingredients:

2 medium onions
1 cup milk
2 tbs chopped fresh ginger root
2 tbsp Punjabi garam masala
6 tbs butter or vegetable oil
1 tsp ground turmeric
3-4 lb. chicken, skin removed, cut
2-3 fresh green cayenne peppers, minced, into small pieces or serranos/jalapenos as substitute
1 cup fresh plain yogurt
Salt and ground cayenne to taste
1/4 cup almonds, ground A few strands whole saffron, soaked in 2 tbs. warm milk
1/4 cup walnuts, ground

Preparation:

Minced fresh cilantro and whole 1/4 cup melon, pumpkin or squash seeds almonds/cashews for garnish (optional), ground
Put the onions and ginger in a blender or food processor and process into a smooth paste (consistency of apple sauce).
Heat the butter or oil in a heavy, deep skillet and gently brown the onion-ginger mixture, stirring often. Add the chicken and yogurt.
Combine well and cook over medium heat until the mixture becomes rather dry and the chicken begins to brown.
Grind the almonds, walnuts and melon seeds until quite fine. Stir them into the milk, then add the mixture to the chicken along with the garam masala, turmeric, chili peppers, salt and ground cayenne.
Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until the chicken is very tender and the sauce is very thick (about 10-15 minutes). Stir in the saffron/milk mixture and cook 1-2 minutes longer. Serve chicken dilruba with roti, naan or paratha.

CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA RECIPE

Ingredients:

Part A:
2 lbs. boneless chicken breast
1/4 cup yogurt
3 tsp minced ginger
3 tsp crushed garlic
1/4 tsp white pepper
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/4 tsp mace
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp green cardamom powder
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric
3 tbsp lemon juice
4 tbsp vegetable oil
Melted margarine (for basting)

Part B:
5 oz. tomato paste
10 oz. tomato puree
2 lbs. tomatoes, chopped
2 tsp ginger paste
2 tsp garlic paste
2 tsp green chilies
1 tbsp red chili powder
2 tsp cloves
8 green cardamoms
Salt To Taste
3 tbsp butter
2/3 cup cream
1 tsp fenugreek
2 tsp ginger, julienned
honey to taste

Preparation:

Whisk all of the ingredients in Part A together in a large bowl. Add the chicken breast, cut into 2 inch cubes.
Marinate overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 350º F. Bake the chicken for 8 minutes, basting with margarine twice. Drain excess marinade and bake for another 2 minutes.
While doing this, make the sauce in Part B. Deseed and chop green chilies. Put tomatoes, tomato paste and tomato puree in a pot and add approximately 4-1/4 cups of water.
Add ginger and garlic paste, green chilies, red chili powder, cloves, cardamoms, and salt. Cook over low heat until reduced to a thick sauce. Strain through a strainer and bring to a boil. Add butter and cream. Stir.
If the sauce tastes sour, add honey to taste. Add fenugreek and ginger juliennes, stir, and serve with the chicken tikka masala

CHICKEN KORMA RECIPE

Ingredients:

1 (2 1/2 pound) cut-up chicken
2 cups yogurt
3 cloves garlic
2 medium onions, chopped
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp fresh ginger, chopped
2 tsp peanut or sunflower oil
2 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp ground chili
1 tsp cumin
Seeds of 2 peeled cardamom pod
1 tsp poppy seed
1 tsp turmeric
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped

How to make chicken korma:

Place chicken in bowl and marinate in yogurt, 1 clove garlic, half an onion, paprika, ginger, salt and pepper for a few hours.
Heat oil in large heavy casserole; gently sauté remaining onion and garlic for 1 minute. Remove and set aside.
Add to casserole the coriander, chili, cumin, cardamom seeds, poppy seed and turmeric. Fry for a few minutes. Add the chicken. Pour enough water to cover and add remaining marinade.
Add onion and garlic with bay leaf. Simmer 45 minutes or until chicken is tender. Sprinkle the chicken korma with fresh coriander and serve.

MURG MAKHANI RECIPE

Ingredients:

Chicken Marination
800 gms Chicken Pieces (boneless)
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tblsp sour Curd
2 tsp Ginger Paste
2 tsp Garlic Paste
1 tblsp lemon juice
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 Onion paste
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
Salt to taste
Few drops of orange color

Gravy
4 large tomatoes chopped
4 tblsp Butter
1 tblsp Fresh Cream
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
2 tsp Ginger finely chopped
2 tsp Green Chilly finely chopped
salt to taste
sugar to taste

Garnish
Melted Butter
Fresh Cream
Coriander Leaves finely chopped

How to make murgh makhani :

Make small cuts in the chicken pieces.
Mix all the marinate ingredients. Mix the the chicken pieces and the marinate.
Let the chicken marinate for a few hours.
Take half the butter in a heavy bottom wok and put in the chicken with the marinade. Cover it and cook till the chicken is fully cooked. Stir fry the chicken for some time.
Now heat the remaining butter in a saucepan and add the red chilli, coriander, cumin and black pepper powders.
Fry for some time then add the chopped tomatoes, sugar, salt and cook on medium flame till the puree thickens and the fat separates.
Add the beaten cream and cook on low flame for few minutes.
Then add the chicken pieces along with chopped ginger and green chillies to the gravy. Cover and simmer on low heat till the curry is hot simmering hot.
While serving pour the melted butter and garnish with fresh cream and finely chopped coriander leaves.
Serve the Murgh Makhani hot with rice or naan.

Once upon a time, hundreds of years ago, Charles I of England hosted a sumptous state banquet for many of his friends and family. The meal, consisting of many delicacies of the day, had been simply superb but the "coup de grace" was yet to come. After much preparation, the King's french chef had concocted an apparently new dish. It was cold and resembled fresh- fallen snow but was much creamier and sweeter than any other after- dinner dessert. The guests were delighted, as was Charles, who summoned the cook and asked him not to divulge the recipe for his frozen cream. The King wanted the delicacy to be served only at the Royal table and offered the cook 500 pounds a year to keep it that way. Sometime later, however, poor Charles fell into disfavour with his people and was beheaded in 1649. But by that time, the secret of the frozen cream remained a secret no more. The cook, named DeMirco, had not kept his promise.

This story is just one of many of the fascinating tales which surround the evolution of our country's most popular dessert, ice cream. It is likely that ice cream was not invented, but rather came to be over years of similar efforts. Indeed, the Roman Emperor Nero Claudius Caesar is said to have sent slaves to the mountains to bring snow and ice to cool and freeze the fruit drinks he was so fond of. Centuries later, the Italian Marco Polo returned from his famous journey to the Far East with a recipe for making water ices resembling modern day sherbets.
